Salt Party
November 18, 2009

Join us for a late-season bike event at Quaker Steak and Lube.

We will be featuring a "Salt Party" contingent featuring the Bonneville Record-setting 1966 Blown Triumph, the 195 mph Salt Flats Ducati and the Champoionship-winning SV-650 roadrace Bikes ridden by Ed Key (Daytona is only 10 miles from the salty Atlantic Ocean).

The format of the evening will be similar to that of "Bike Nights" and will have a forum at 7:00pm where we will field questions and explain some of the individual subtleties of the Bonneville Salt Flats and winning at the Daytona Super Speedway.

Introduction to Fabrication Clinic

Here are some comments from the people who came:

"Thanks again for a great opportunity to learn some new things, meet interesting new people, and stay juiced for our passion in the dead of winter. As always you put on a great clinic, and I truly appreciate the knowledge, skills, and camaraderie that you extend. Thanks again and have a great holiday."
---Ray Felber

"I know Guy and I both learned some things. Time well spent."
---Ed Key

as always, safety comes first

Under construction...

This is a commission project for a customer, but is something that has been done here since 1982.

The frame “jig” is the large table-like fixture used when we either construct a frame from scratch or Re-neck a damaged frame.

The basic dimensions are laid out, the engine, steering head and axle locations are fixed and then you basically connect the dots, using chrome-moly tubing and TIG welding.

This project was especially challenging as we needed to duplicate a previous chassis with the needed updates and changes, but able to accommodate a vintage piece of bodywork.

The longest chassis we have built here was a 22 foot long prototype top fueler, and the shortest was a Ducati 888.

The various stages of completion can be seen with updates added as progress is made.

There are only about six places in the country that do this, and considering the amount of effort that goes into a project of this type, I can see why.

Questions about this or other projects can be answered best at mcperf@tds.net.

Top Fuel Nostalgia Dragster

Here's something you don't see in a motorcycle shop every day!
Unless it's ours, of course.

What is it doing here? We're making parts for it!

New Addition

Welcome to the newest addition to Motorcycle Performance. Constructed in only a matter of weeks, it continues to surprise people who drive up.

This building is used mainly to house motorcycles, on the left are some of the used bikes for sale, and on the right are ones that are being fixed or stored for our customers.

It has already started sporting banners from many different parts suppliers.

The addition helps to protect the bikes from the effects of harsh weather, and it also keeps them cleaner.

So if you're in the neighborhood, drop by and see it!
